What is the Medical Reserve Corps?

Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) are community based and organized volunteers that help with the health and safety of their communities.

Volunteer teams are made up of medical, public health and lay professionals who meet the specific needs of the community they serve.

Some ways volunteers may help are:

  • Disaster Response like Floods, Blizzards, Tornados or Fires
  • Health Education and Outreach
  • Vaccination Clinics
  • Cooling or Warming Centers
  • Working with Youth
  • Disaster Risk Reduction
  • Community Event Support

Planning ahead allows the community to find out the skills residents already have and train them to work together before disaster strikes.
