Back-to-School Vaccine Information

Immunizations for the 2023-2024 School Year

As students in Cumberland County prepare for the next school year, the Cumberland County Health Department is making sure they have plenty of opportunities to get their required vaccinations.

When children are not vaccinated, they are at increased risk of illness and can spread diseases in their classrooms, daycares, and elsewhere - possibly infecting infants who are too young to be vaccinated and people with weakened immune systems due to other health conditions.

Uninsured or underinsured participants must be 18 years of age or younger, and a parent or guardian must be present during the vaccination appointment. Medicaid and most commercial insurances are accepted.

Cumberland County students who are new to the school district or are entering kindergarten are required to provide their Illinois immunization record in order to enroll. Students entering the sixth grade are also required to receive certain boosters and must bring an up-to-date immunization record.

If you need a copy of you or your child's immunization record, you can access the IDPH Vax Verify page by registering here.

Please call the Health Department's Nurse at (217) 849-3211 for more information
