According to the Food and Drug Administration, the shrimp may have been prepared, packed, or held under insanitary conditions whereby they may have become contaminated with cesium-137 (Cs-137). The FDA is investigating whether the shrimp may have become contaminated after being shipped in contaminated containers. To date no contaminated shrimp has been found.
Consumers who have purchased affected shrimps should not consume the product and should dispose of or return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact the company at 800-331-3440.
