Salmonella Risk in Frozen Fruit & Vegetable Recall

Chetak LLC Group Expands Voluntary Product Recall to Include Additional Frozen Vegetable and Fruit Products Due to Possible Health Risk

FDA's Investigation is ongoing.

Chetak LLC Group expanded a recall to include several lots of Deep-brand frozen vegetables and fruit products. A full list of the recalled products is available below in the Product Descriptions section. Consumers should check their freezers for recalled products and throw them away. Since the start of this investigation, multiple Deep-brand product samples have been collected at import for testing and analysis. On August 22, 2025, FDA was informed that a sample of Deep-brand Frozen Singoda (Water Chestnut) (lot IN25150K), tested positive for Salmonella and was refused entry into the United States. Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) analysis later determined that the strain of Salmonella identified in the product does not match the outbreak strain.

On August 22, 2025, FDA expanded advice for retailers and consumers to not eat, sell, or serve Deep-brand Premium Select Frozen SURTI UNDHIU MIX in 12-oz (340 g) packages with the lot code printed on the back side of the bag of IN25158K and Use By date of 06 Dec 2026, based on recent product sample results indicating Salmonella contamination in this product. Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) analysis determined that the strain of Salmonella found in this product matches the strain causing illnesses in this outbreak. On September 8, 2025, Chetak LLC Group expanded their recall to include several lots of Deep-brand frozen vegetables and fruit products. Refer to Chetak LLC Group’s expanded recall announcement for the full list of products included in the recall.

While the Chetak LLC Group has indicated they have not received reports of illnesses directly, FDA and CDC’s investigation has linked these products to illnesses in this outbreak through laboratory and epidemiological evidence. The recalling firm is working with FDA and the production and distribution of the product has been suspended while FDA and Chetak LLC Group continue their investigation into the source of the problem.

If you have any of the products with the lot numbers listed above, please immediately stop use, and discard or return product to your point of purchase
